I have a feeling that at some point in everyone’s lives, they were in a group doing a project and everyone in the group was totally worthless. Okay, maybe not totally worthless, but pretty close to it. This happened to me recently. I only go into work Monday through Wednesday because I only work as a temporary consultant. I have noticed that when I am there those three days, my department works really hard and gets a lot of progress done on various projects. However, the rest of the week, when I am not there the department tends to lag behind and not get much done. I am not being egotistic but I have concluded that I must be the cause in the difference in productivity.
