2/2/2017 | A Blogpost Everyday | Resolutions

Dear Readers,

I have been failing the 52 short story project that I made for myself about thirty days ago. I have not written any short story since I finished the first one a couple of weeks ago. I am going to shorten the goal down from 52 short stories to only 20 short stories. This is a lot more manageable of a goal for a college student that has a big course load on his plate. Also, quality is a lot better than quantity, meaning that with a shorter goal I can focus on creating twenty really well written short stories instead of fifty two potentially bad ones.

Speaking of failing the short story project, I want to talk about resolutions for the new year. I think that we all of made at least one resolution in our lives at some point. It could have been as simple as losing 5 lbs. or as complex as running a mile every day for the year. Whatever the goal that people make up, there will always be bumps along the way to achieving that resolution but I believe that people should not give up on their resolutions so easily. I mean, most people give up on their respective resolutions in January for crying out loud! I can’t really say anything, myself, because I have given up on resolutions within the first 30 days of the year as well. However, my long drawn out point is that people should not just entirely give up their resolutions but instead they should modify their resolutions to be able to achieve them.

I am not saying that people should just modify their resolutions as soon as they hit one bump in the road but when they hit multiple bumps in a row. Anyway, I hope that you all had a great day, see you tomorrow!
