Whiskey Review – Bird Gang Bourbon Whiskey by BOTLD

Hi…It’s been a while since we last spoke. I apologize for that, but I have good reasons for the absence, unfortunately I can’t disclose publicly right now but will eventually.

In the meantime, I want to start getting more sophisticated with drinking alcohol. To this point in my life, the only purpose in my head to drink alcohol was to get drunk. Because of this viewpoint, I tended to drink to excess almost EVERY single time I drank booze. I want to change that, starting today.

To aide in this endeavor/challenge, I am going to post a review of a new alcohol every single time that I drink. I know what you’re probably thinking, how is continuing to drink going to up me control my drinking habits? Well, I’m not sure it will though lol, but I’m willing to try it. If anything, I’m going to drink some really cool and interesting beverages the next few months or years. Great beverages much like our first contestant: Bird Gang Bourbon Whiskey by BOTLD, made in the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia, PA).

I am a noob when it comes to describing the taste of alcohol in a way that would entice someone to want to drink it, outside of beer. But that being said, here it goes. I’m going to break the reviews down, at least initially, into three categories: smell, taste, and ability to feel the alcohol effect.

Smell 8.6/10:

The smell is the stereotypical scent of a masculinity; it honestly makes me want to run through a brick wall to go chop some wood in a forest. The forest is exactly what this smells like, foreshadowing the taste: see below.

Taste – 8/10:

I love the taste of this bourbon, very smoky. It tastes like I’m walking through the woods, if that makes sense. The initial taste as it hits your tongue is surprisingly a light fluffy note that quickly dives into that smoky flavor I said before. This would pair well with a nice, rare steak honestly.

Ability to feel the alcohol – 7.5/10:

This category is unique but at its core, within this category, I am going to convey how I feel directly after drinking one glass of the alcohol. The glass container is going to be an appropriate size relative to the alcohol (i.e. Wine goes into a traditional wine glass, Beer goes into a pint glass, whiskey goes into a traditional whiskey glass (short), etc.). In one sentence, after drinking this bourbon, the alcohol is like a time bomb. The first couple sips aren’t too noticeable, you really just get the great taste/notes noted above. But halfway through the glass and you’re hit with a wave of booze that wrap you up in a warm blanket. Honestly a pleasant feeling, as long as you don’t overdo it.

Overall rate for this is: 8.03. Not too shabby, I would highly recommend anyone that like bourbon, pick this one up!

So that’s my review and backstory around alcohol. In terms of timing of posts in the future, there is no set timeline lol. I’m going to post whenever I drink alcohol, could every day, every other month or maybe once a year (lol probably not that last one).

Anyway, thanks for reading and let me know what you think if you decide to drink this in the future. Bye for now!
